Aerospace Facility Makeover

GE Aerospace in the Research Triangle Park manufactures commercial jet engines, the same engines used on the aircraft we all use for travel. The company needed the interior of their facilities painted, consisting of multiple large buildings in the 200,000 SF range. The challenge was to paint all exposed structural steel, CMU walls, and tilt-up concrete walls while working just a few feet away from where these jet engines are built. These facilities must maintain a dust and odor-free environment for obvious reasons. Few painting contractors are capable of such an undertaking. QC presented GE with a proposal that would meet all the requirements and challenges of the project at a competitive rate with labor and material warranties built in. This was a multi-phase, multi-mobilization effort that spanned three years in total. QC continues to provide them ongoing painting services, including epoxy flooring, floor striping, machine and equipment painting, and more.
